Winner Takes All….And That Winner Was Chicago

The Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals played the decisive fifth game in this best-of-five National League Division Series after the clubs split the first four games. The Cubs won the NLDS opener  in Washington, 3-0, before dropping game two, 6-3. The series moved to Chicago with the Cubs taking game three, 2-1, prior to yesterday’s game four, a 5-0 Washington win in a game that was postponed Tuesday due to rainIn the 13th season since baseball returned to Washington, D.C.,

The Nationals and Cubs played seven games in 2017 (four in D.C., three in Chicago), with Washington taking the regular-season advantage.

It was the longest 9-inning game in MLB playoff history with the Cubs beating the Nationals 9-8, to advance to their 3rd straight NLCS.
