‘The Truth’ Retires In Beantown

Paul Pierce aka ‘The Truth’ has signed his final contract. On Monday night Pierce and the Boston Celtics shared via social media that he signed with the Celtics so he could retire with the team.

According to ESPN’s Jackie MacMullan, Pierce showed up to the Celtics practice facility wearing Brooklyn Nets shorts and bugged GM Danny Ainge ‘This is where you sent me.”

The 39-year-old played with four teams over his career: The Boston Celtics (1998-2013), Brooklyn Nets (2013-2014), Washington Wizards (2014-2015), LA Clippers (2015-2017).

The 10x All-Star won the NBA Championship in 2008 with the Celtics and was named the Finals MVP where he said this famous quote. “I don’t think Kobe is the best player. I’m the best player. There’s a line that separates having confidence and being conceited. I don’t cross that line but I have a lot of confidence in myself.”

After 19 seasons ‘The Truth’ is retiring to the team that drafted him.
