Trail Blazers Beat Raptors In Pre-Season Action

The Toronto Raptors continued their preseason run on Thursday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Raptors going into the match-up were  1-3 all-time preseason action with their last bout of pre-season action taking place on October 26th, 2005.

The last regular season game between the two clubs was after the All-Star break on February 26th at the ACC. DeMar DeRozan scored 33 points to help Toronto who were without Lowry for a second straight game, and the defensive backbone provided by newcomers Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker helped steady the Raptors in a 112-106 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Thursday night would not be another team raising performance as DeRozan didn’t play….. neither did C.J. Miles. In pre-season action Serge Ibaka struggled again scoring just two points on 1/5 shooting from the field and was 0/3 from beyond-the-arc.

Kyle Lowry recorded 23 points and six assists and Norman Powell (who just signed a 4-year contract extension with the team before the game) added 15 points for the Raptors (1-2).

Damian Lillard finished with 16 points, eight assists and five rebounds, CJ McCollum had 15 points and four assists.

The Raptors will host Detroit on Tuesday.
