Happy Canada day to all of our Canuck readers. Today the ‘land of the free’ is celebrating the big 150. We surveyed our readers on who they thought were the best Canadian athletes of all-time and the next batch of up and coming athletes to watch. Hometown: Brantford, Ontario
Claim to fame: Gretzky holds over 100 official and unofficial NHL records, including the one for holding the most records.
Hardware: (to name a few) 4x Stanley Cup winner, 9 Hart Trophies, 4x Lou Marsh Trophy Winner
Gordie Howe (25% )
Hometown: Floral, Saskatchewan
Claim to fame: He was an All-Star 23 times and holds the nickname “Mr. Hockey”. Howe is considered the most complete player to ever play the game and one of the greatest ice hockey players of all time.

Clara Hughes (8%)

Hardware: Nash never won a title as a player but in 2017 he was a consultant for the Golden State Warriors and picked up his first ring.

Claim to fame: Won 8 consecutive Norris trophies for best defenceman, three Hart Trophies. He changed the way the game was played form the backend. He is viewed by many as the “greatest hockey player of all-time.” His accomplishments would take up this entire article.

Hayley Wickenheiser (18 %)
Hometown: Shaunavon, Saskatchewan
Claim to fame: All-time leading scorer internationally for Canada’s National Women’s Team. First woman to score a goal in a men’s professional league. Like all of the athletes in the top 5, she has a long list of accomplishments.
