Teravainen’s Natural Hat Trick Powers Hurricanes To Victory

Teuvo Teravainen (3-1—4) scored three consecutive goals in a span of 7:05 of the third period to record his first career hat trick and help the Hurricanes extend their point streak to five contests (3-0-2). Elias notes that Teravainen recorded the 12th natural hat trick in Hurricanes/Whalers franchise history and first since Eric Staal on Dec. 18, 2010 vs. ANA.

According to Elias, only one player in Hurricanes/Whalers franchise history has recorded a faster natural hat trick than Teravainen – Ray Whitney scored three times in a 1:40 span on Feb. 8, 2007 at BOS.
