Senators, Kings Still Undefeated In Regulation

The Ottawa Senators and LA Kings both earned victories to remain the only two teams without a regulation loss this season:

Mike Hoffman and Kyle Turris each posted 2-1—3 as the Senators scored six goals for the second time in as many nights to extend their season-opening point streak to five games (3-0-2). Elias notes that this marks the fifth time in franchise history that Ottawa has opened a season with a point streak of at least five games (last: 5-0-0 in 2007-08); their only longer such streaks came in 2005-06 (6-0-0) and 2000-01 (6-0-3).

Drew Doughty (1-1—2) scored the tiebreaking goal with two minutes remaining in the third period to lift the Kings to a 3-0-1 record in 2017-18, marking the first time the club has earned at least one point in each of its first four games to begin a season since 1995-96 when they started 4-0-3.
