Raptors Sign Norman Powell To Contract Extension

After losing to the Clippers in pre-season action on Wednesday night, Raptors fans had good news on Thursday. It was reported that the club had signed Norman Powell to a four-year extension.

The deal is worth a reported $42 million dollars. At 24-years-old Powell would have become a restricted free agent in July.

Die-Hard Raptors fans were hesitant of the San Diego native when he first was brought on to the team in 2015. He was selected 46th overall in the draft to the Bucks and was traded for Raptors fan favourite Greivis Vasquez.

That hate soon turned to admiration as the young guard proved his worth on the court. He brought energy off the bench and averaged 5.6 points in 49 games. During the 2016-2017 season Powell averaged 8.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 76 games last season.

Powell’s teammate and Raptors 905 Alumni had the post of the day to congratulate his buddy:
