Raptors Game Day Vs Lakers

The Toronto Raptors continue their season-long six-game road trip (Oct. 23 – Nov. 3) Friday night against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. The Raptors have won five in a row versus the Lakers, including two straight on the road.

Kyle Lowry has scored 20+ points in seven straight games against the Lakers; averaging 27.1 points during this stretch. Lowry (41 points) and DeMar DeRozan (31 points) combined to score 72 points in Toronto’ 123-114 victory over the Lakers on New Year’s Day last season – the most points they have combined to score as teammates with the Raptors.

Compton native DeMar DeRozan is set to play his 600th game as a Raptor on Friday night. DeRozan was picked ninth overall by Toronto in the 2009 NBA Draft and is already the franchise leader in games played. There are 10 active players who have appeared in 600 games with their current team; Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Nick Collison, Udonis Haslem, LeBron James, Mike Conley, DeAndre Jordan, Russell Westbrook and Marc Gasol.

This will be the 41st meeting between the two teams with the Lakers leading the all-time series 28-12..and yes the first time the Raptors face Lonzo and his father Lavar Ball.

And who can forget the two teams’ 20th meeting back on January 22, 2006, Kobe Bryant had a career night, scoring 81 points – including 55 points in the second half – to bring the Lakers back from 18 down to defeat the Raptors 122-104 at STAPLES Center.
