New Music Friday: HANNAH GEORGAS

Juno-nominated songstress Hannah Georgas will be releasing a collection of covers by influential women in her life on March 8, 2019 in celebration of International Women’s Day. The beautifully recorded 4-song EP titled Imprints is produced by Dan Molad and features music by The Cranberries, Eurythmics, Janet Jackson and Tegan and Sara. Accompanying Georgas on the EP are friends and special guest vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius, Emily King, Montaigne and Tamara Lindeman of Weather Station.
Says Georgas, “The Cranberries had such an impact on me growing up and is still one of my favourite bands. There is so much emotion and realness behind Dolores O’Riordan’s lyrics and in my opinion, this track is one of the most simply and perfectly put ‘break up’ songs. I was gutted when I heard the news of Dolores’ passing this time last year. I know I don’t know her but I feel like I did because she helped me through so much growing up listening to her music.”
To celebrate self-identifying women and non-binary artists, Georgas is partnering with Massey Hall and Women in Music Canada for a special performance of Imprints at the Lula Lounge in Toronto on March 7, 2019. Join Hannah and friends for a lively evening with special performances by Donovan Woods, Rae Spoon, Terra Lightfoot, and The Weather Station.
The acclaimed indie-pop singer-songwriter is currently in the studio preparing her next full-length album.
