The ACC will host the Toronto Maple Leafs first pre-season home game on Tuesday night. The Leafs are coming off a 6-2 loss in Ottawa on Monday. It’s believed that Nazem Kadir, Leo Komarov and Patrick Marleau will share a line.
The 38-year-old signed a three year, $18 million dollar deal in the off season.
“Age surely has not affected him,” Coach Mike Babcock said during training camp over concerns of Marleau’s age. “The thing that leads you in this league is your legs. You can’t make the plays fast enough because you don’t get there quick enough. (He’s) not in that situation.”
Marleau brings 1,493 regular-season games and 177 games of Stanley Cup Playoff experience to the Maple Leafs. That should be invaluable to a team that featured eight or more rookies in the lineup in most games last season.
