Mariners minor leaguer Gamboa suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Seattle Mariners Minor League infielder Miguel Gamboa has received a 56-game suspension without pay after testing positive for a metabolite of Nandrolone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Gamboa, who is currently on the roster of the rookie-level Arizona League Mariners, will be effective at the start of the 2017 AZL season.
