It’s been months since it was revealed Cleveland Cavaliers Kyrie Irving requested a trade and almost a week since the Boston Celtics and Cavs started the paperwork to trade Irving for Celtics star Isaiah Thomas and what seems like half their team. On Thursday afternoon Kyrie released a video on the website Tout thanking the fans.
“I love all your guys support, all your guys love over the course of the amount of years I was in Cleveland,” Irving said. “There’ll be nothing but love that I have for the organization and what we got to be a part of.”
He also went on to thank his teammates but did not single out any, which will add to the drama of his alleged beef with LeBron James. Many reports indicated he wanted out of Cleveland because of a sour relationship with James.
“There are no other ulterior reasons,” Irving said in the video, “other than being happy and wanting to be somewhere where you feel like its an environment that conducive to you maximizing your potential as a human being and as a player perfecting their craft.”

Irving was selected by the Cavaliers with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2011 Draft.
