Late Friday afternoon news broke that Cleveland Cavaliers Kyrie Irving has requested a trade from the team. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst wrote that Irving’s camp made the request last week to Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert.
Irving has expressed that he wants to play in a situation where he can be more of a focal point and that he no longer wants to play alongside LeBron James, sources said.
There are rumours swirling that Irving has requested to go to the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs or the Minnesota Timberwolves. The report also stated that Lebron was ‘blind sided’ by Irvings request.
The 25-year-old has been with the Cavs since they selected him first overall in the 2011 draft.
When the report was published obviously the internet trolls had some fun.
