Kucherov Extends Scoring Streak

Nikita Kucherov (2-0—2) scored twice to extend his season-opening goal streak to six games and lead the Lightning (5-1-0, 10 points) to a fourth consecutive win.

* Kucherov (7-3—10 in 6 GP) – who tied for second in the NHL with a career-high 40 goals in 2016-17 – has scored in each of Tampa Bay’s opening six games, including the game-winning goal on Monday. Elias notes that only three other players in the past 30 years have scored a goal in at least six consecutive team games to begin a season – Steve Yzerman in 1988-89 w/ DET (6-5—11 in 6 GP), Mario Lemieux in 1992-93 w/ PIT (18-20—38 in 12 GP) and Keith Tkachuk in 2008-09 w/ STL (7-0—7 in 6 GP).
