Jerry Stackhouse Coaches Raptors 905 to first Championship

Former NBA Player Jerry Stackhouse helped coach the Raptors D-League team the Raptors 905 to their first championship. That may embellish the fact that the team is only in it’s second season so it hasn’t had the winless streak the Raptors have had. Nonetheless it was an impressive season for the team and first time D-League coach.

Stackhouse was named Coach of the Year this season, his first behind the bench. He currently is also an Assistant Coach with the 905’s big brother the Raptors. On Thursday night the 905  defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 122-96. While the Toronto Raptors were in Milwaukee trying to close out the series three Raptors stayed behind— forwards Bruno Caboclo and Pascal Siakam and guard Fred VanVleet. Siakam earned MVP honours after averaging 23.0 points and 9.0 rebounds.

Raptors Bruno Caboclo had another performance of the night playing 32 minutes and going 13-19 FG and 5 of 7 from beyond the arc. Caboclo finished with 31 points on the night.
