Game Day: Raptors vs Chicago Bulls

The Toronto Raptors open the 2017-18 season Thursday night against the Chicago Bulls at the Air Canada Centre. Going into the Raptors 23rd season the club are 13-9 in season openers, including 10-6 at home.

Thursday will be the first time Toronto has opened the season against Chicago in team history. All-star guards DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry will form the Raptors’ starting backcourt for a fifth straight opening night – the most consecutive starts and total starts by a backcourt duo in team history.

Thursday night will also mark DeRozan’s franchise record ninth season opener in the starting lineup (2009-17). • DeMar DeRozan was named to the 2016-17 All-NBA Third Team. It was DeRozan’s first selection to the All-NBA team.

In the pre-season Toronto won its final two games with a 3-2 record and averaged 109.4 points  and shot .463 (189-408) from the field. New edition to the roster this year C.J. Miles averaged 15.3 points in four games and led the team with 14 made three-point field goals.

Toronto defeated the Bulls 125-104 in Chicago in the final preseason game for both teams.
