The question going into Game 1 between the Boston Celtics- Chicago Bulls series was ‘Will Isaiah Thomas play?’. Thomas’ sister Chyna died tragically in a car crash in Washington state the date before. 28-year-old Isaiah was close with his 22-year-old sister and it was uncertain if he would dress for the game.
During shoot-around on Sunday prior to time off Thomas was seen sitting on the sideline with his head in his hands while a teammate tried to console him.

Thomas did play and emotions were high. A moment of silence was held for his sister prior to the game.
Charles Barkley is once again in a bit of hot water after making these remarks during the TNT broadcast.
“I’m not feeling comfortable with him sitting on the sideline crying like that. That makes me uncomfortable because that tells me he’s not in shape to play. I don’t know how this night is going to turn out. But to be sitting on the sideline a few minutes before the game, crying, that makes me uncomfortable for him. That’s just not a good look, in my personal opinion.”
Unfortunately for Thomas and the Celtics they were unable to get the win losing 106-102.
