The Blue Jays announced on Tuesday that they’ve selected the contract of left-hander Brett Anderson. Right-handed reliever Leonel Campos was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo to clear a spot on the active roster for Anderson. Toronto already had an open 40-man spot, which Anderson has now filled.
In 2014 Former Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos acquired Anderson from the Athletics in exchange for Sergio Santos but a failed medical test shut down the deal.
Three years later and a call up Anderson got his chance as a Jay.
Anderson will be the 14th person to start for the Blue Jays in a 2017 season.
