Boeser Nets First NHL Hat Trick

Rookies Brock Boeser (3-1—4) and Clayton Keller (1-0—1) each scored on Saturday to propel their clubs to victory:

Boeser, at 20 years, 252 days), became the third-youngest player in franchise history to score three goals in a game and the first Canucks rookie to register four points in a game since Peter Schaefer on March 24, 2000 vs. ANA. He ranks second among rookies with 5-8—13 in 10 games this season.

Keller, who leads NHL rookies with 10-6—16 in 15 games, became the second rookie in Coyotes/Jets franchise history to hit the 10-goal mark within the first 15 games of a season. Teemu Selanne achieved the feat in his first 11 games with the Jets in 1992-93 en route to shattering the NHL single-season record for goals by a rookie, finishing with 76 goals in 84 games.

There have been 16 hat tricks in 2017-18 (212 GP), the most through the first 212 games of a season since 1996-97 (18).
